Need Insurance Claim Advice? Handling an insurance claim by yourself can be tricky. Our loss assessors can assess your damage and prepare your claim.
First there is the policy itself. The wording sets out what is covered, along with the exclusions and limits, and it isn’t always easy to follow. Then there is secondary damage: the damage that appears after the obvious damage, which can add a good deal to the final cost of repairs.
Spotting secondary damage takes experience. After a fire, smoke can travel into wall cavities and attic spaces. After a leak, water can sit under floors and behind units long after the surface looks dry.
Damage that isn’t recorded before the claim is agreed can be missed when the claim is put together, and repairs that come to light later may be harder to include. Notify your insurer promptly after any loss and keep a record of the damage.
An experienced Insurance Loss Assessor inspects and records all of the damage, prepares the claim under the terms of your policy and deals with the insurer and its loss adjuster for you, so you are not left handling it on your own.
