Our clients are a young family with three small children in South Co Dublin. They left their home and were commuting to a local supermarket. Our client received a phone call from a neighbour informing her that smoke was bellowing from the vents at the rear of her property and that they could see fire in the kitchen/dining area. Our client was naturally distraught that her family home had been destroyed and waited for the fire brigade to attend and make safe before she could enter the building. Our clients had suffered extensive kitchen fire and smoke damage to their family home and to most of their personal belongings. Our clients were distraught and the thoughts of dealing with the property damage claim added to the stress and torment that had already been endured.

We attended site within 24 hours to carry out a full property damage assessment. We found that the kitchen/dining/playroom was extensively fire damaged and that the rest of the house suffered smoke damage. The damage was to buildings and to contents (beds, blinds, curtains, toys, clothing etc.) throughout. We met with the insurance company loss adjuster the day of our appointment and secured an interim payment to ensure our clients were not left out of pockets whilst claim was progressing. ICS liaised with fire and smoke damage restoration specialists to ascertain the full level of damaged items and fire damage to building structure, contents and finishes. We used our specialist reports and opinions to form the basis for our claim formulation and for the negotiation of the settlement figure. We then negotiated with the insurance loss adjuster and agreed a settlement under the terms of our client’s policy.
